Invite Comments To Your News Blog Using The JS-Kit Online Service

Add JS-Kit commenting code to your Easy Blogs template and invite comments to your dedicated news blog. This tutorial shows you how, where and when to add JS-Kit commenting to your Easy Blog template.

Technically you'll be adding 2 javascript codes (tags) to your template in 3 different places. There is the "Home Page", "Default Template" and the "Article Pages" sub-templates. One code loads the plug-in onto the page and the other code tells your blog where and when to display it.

ATTENTION
All template modifications require that you:

a) re-publish, re-generate your pages in the blog software
b) re-upload ALL pages of your blog to your SBI site.

Be sure to do this after you complete the steps of this tutorial.

So, let's begin.....

Click on "link to see what the service looks like.

Step 1. Go to http://js-kit.com/comments/

Note: Recently JS-Kits acquired HaloScan commenting service and made some big changes. First they eliminated the need to sign up for an account and pay for service. Now all you have to do is put their code in your template.

 Js-Kit Commenting service

Note: The Comments service provides a full-featured commenting engine for your web site. It is implemented as a lightweight widget and is incredibly easy to install on any static or dynamic web page.

Step 2. Now, copy this code.

or you can copy it from here.

You could just drop this JS-Kit code as is into your template right where you want the comments to show up. Later on I'll show you where to put it, but first there is a lot you can do to customize this code.

Step 3. Go here to see what modifications you can make to the code http://js-kit.com/comments/custom.html to see what is possible.

Note: I did not create JS-Kit commenting and can only answer support questions pertaining to it's installation on Easy Blogs. Please before you contact me about JS-Kit comments please read their FAQ http://js-kit.com/comments/faq.html
